Bethesda Gardens Welcomes Morgan May

Great things are happening at Bethesda Gardens in Terre Haute. We would like to take this opportunity to welcome Morgan May, our student Music Therapist. Morgan has a B.A. in Psychology from DePauw University and just recently graduated from St. Mary-of-the-Woods College with a B.S. in Music Therapy. She will be spending the summer with us as she completes her internship as required for her music therapy degree. She is providing one-on-one and group music therapy services to our Residents and has started a bell choir. The Residents call themselves, “THE BETHESDA BELLS,” and are very proud of their accomplishment.

Safety Fair

Come one, come all, and join us on Friday, August 13, 2010 for our first Safety Fair. We plan to have Duke Energy, Vectren, Honey Creek Fire Dept., Sheriff’s Dept., State Police,. Amedisys Home Health Care, Southern Care, and various other organizations come and demonstrate to our Community all the variables when it comes to safety. We will have games for the kids, Sparky the dog, ice cream, and lots to keep the attention of the children that attend. So mark August 13th on your calendars now!

Alzheimer's Memory Walk

Each year Bethesda Gardens joins dozens of local businesses and hundreds of walkers in support of the Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk. The annual event will take place this year at Rose Hulman Institute of Technology’s Campus on Saturday, September 25, 2010, in Terre Haute.
The Alzheimer’s Associations Memory Walk is the nation’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research programs. With more than 5-million Americans living with the disease and 10-million more serving as caregivers, the need is as great as it has ever been.
Staged annually in hundreds of communities across the country, this inspiring  event calls on volunteers of all ages to  become ‘Champions’ in the fight against Alzheimer’s. Champions are those living with the disease, families, caregivers, and corporate and community leaders. Nationwide, those who have participated in these walks have raised approximately $300 million.
Bethesda Gardens will have a booth at the Memory Walk event, providing information on Memory Care living options at our Community as well as handing out bottled water for all of the team walkers. We are looking forward to being a part of this very special event again this year.
