Summer is going by quickly and residents have been admiring their new vegetable garden. The Shopping Club visited several green houses to find the right bedding plants, and the Garden Club prepared the raised beds and helped with planting. Some of the resident crafters made cute signs to mark the various plantings. We cannot wait until it is time for the “Eating Club” so we can enjoy all the fresh veggies!
Residents had fun making signs for the garden.
In honor of the Bethesda 50th Anniversary, each resident has been invited to share their life story. It is humbling to hear of the hardships many of our residents endured during the depression and during their childhood.
Other summer activities include field trips to local museums, walks and concerts in the park, barbecues, and an Antique Car Parade. We also enjoy our monthly birthday party, and welcome party complete with cake and entertainers.
Edith Bierman enjoys a puppy visitor!
Weekly van rides are enjoyed as we toured local neighborhoods, greenhouses, and farms. We can’t wait until the miniature ponies we saw have their babies! Speaking of babies, residents enjoyed a visit from a litter of puppies, thanks to Casey, our Executive Assistant.
