Bethesda Adult Communities has recently changed its name to Bethesda Senior Living Communities (BSLC). From its founding in 1959, Bethesda has been caring for the senior community through a variety of retirement living options. The new name intends to reflect Bethesda’s direction of providing our senior resident with life enrichment through the services we provide.
Bethesda Senior Living Communities operates in six states with seventeen communities that provide either assisted living, memory care or independent retirement living options for seniors. Today our mission is to serve seniors by enriching their physical, emotional and spiritual health in a nurturing environment. BSLC serves others and our communities by sharing God’s love through care, advocacy, respect and virtuous business practices.
The redirection began in 1989 when Bethesda broadened its mission from operating 34 senior care facilities to retirement and assisted living communities. Our original vision of “Care with a Gentle Touch” hasn’t changed as the tradition of sharing God’s love with the world continues. Larry Smith, President of BSLC says, “Our vision is to expand outreach and to provide service to as many communities as God wills through expansion, acquisition, management contracts and programming to ensure we are meeting the needs of the growing senior community.”
In addition, Bethesda Senior Living Communities will launch a new website the later part of the summer (www.BethesdaSeniorLiving.com) designed to reflect the new identity and brand. The new site provides more useful information about our communities, including interactive floor plans that allow site visitors to see pictures of the different housing options and slide shows which reflect the life experience living within each of our communities.
